Abhidhamma (Pāli) / Abhidharma (Skt.) – The analytical teachings of Buddhism focusing on psychology and philosophy.

Ajahn (Thai) – A respectful title for a senior monk or meditation teacher in the Thai Forest Tradition.

Alaya-vijñāna (Skt.) – “Storehouse consciousness” in Yogācāra; the base layer of mind holding karmic seeds.

Amitābha (Skt.) / Amida (Jap.)
